Moody's EMEA Corporate Finance Group is responsible for rating all corporate investment grade and speculative grade issuers based in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Responsibilities
This role will be managing a portfolio of corporate issuers in the Middle East with a focus on the six Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries within a broad range of industry sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a portfolio of high profile clients based out of the Dubai office where Moody?s has full-fledged operations with all major rating franchises present. This fosters important interaction with other rating groups such as the Sovereign Risk and Financial Institutions analysts. The key responsibilities of an analyst are to ensure rating accuracy, write research reports and respond timely to investor inquiries. The analyst will have a particular focus on rating corporate issuers in the Gulf Region while also working closely with other group members covering both developed and emerging market countries in EMEA. * Conduct initial and on-going credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies with public and private ratings. * Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis on a regular basis to rating committees to assign and maintain credit ratings. * Present credits effectively and comprehensively in Rating Committees and other internal analytical meetings. * Researching, writing and presenting on credit opinions/topical research and interacting with investors and intermediaries. * Write in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused research on credit trends to a high quality. * Involvement in outreach events such as investor briefings, teleconferences, conference participations and third party presentations. * Maintain high profile relationships with issuers, investors and intermediaries, with frequent interaction with investors and intermediaries, based upon industry and topical research written by the job holder * Manage and maintain relationships with GCC issuers, investors and intermediaries. * Conduct initial and on-going credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies with public ratings in the Gulf region. * Write in-depth, insightful and focused credit research of a high quality. * Present credits effectively and comprehensively in Rating Committees and other internal analytical meetings. * Researching, writing and presenting on credit opinions/topical research and interacting with investors and intermediaries.
Experience
* Substantial experience of credit analysis or related experience, including demonstrable financial analysis experience, cash flow analysis and cash flow based lending techniques, gained from a recognised financial institution or audit firm. * Knowledge of Gulf corporate and debt markets and have an understanding of the key issues affecting these markets/the main players and key industry drivers, would be highly advantageous. * Understanding of complex transaction structures, with a good grasp of documentation, accounting and financial modelling. * Understanding of loan/bond and other associated documentation, and experience of reviewing such.
Qualifications
* Strong academic background (MSc/MBA preferred) in a Mathematical and/or Economic/Business subject. * Relevant professional qualification (eg CFA) would be desirable.

* Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills. * Well developed IT skills including advance Excel and PowerPoint. Non technical skills * Client care. * Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent the Moody?s brand effectively. * Good interpersonal skills. * Strong sense of urgency, and a proactive/'can do' approach. * Ability to work on own initiative, without the need for close supervision. * Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines. * Strong attention to detail. * Good communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing. * Fluency in English essential, other languages, such as Arabic, an advantage. * Sound judgement ? capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views. * Willingness to travel across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region
