PURPOSE:
• Support and contribute to M&A activity on specific projects under the direction of the Director/Head of M&A.
• Assist on larger M&A projects as required by the Director of M&A. Support in the co-ordination of the work of the European Business units to deliver required M&A activity.

KEY OUTPUTS:
• Support in the preparation of internal documentation
• Support project management activities during M&A processes
• Be involved in origination activity in conjunction with M&A team
• Work with the Businesses, Europe M&A team and Group M&A to ensure that the European division's strategy is fulfilled with regard to acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals, by maintaining an efficient and effective European M&A capability.
• Identify transaction opportunities in conjunction with the Businesses and work with them to bring deals to a successful conclusion.
Work with the Head of M&A to increase the capability of the business units in relation to M&A activity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree or equivalent
• Professional accounting or legal qualification helpful.
 
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
• Exposure to M&A transaction process.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, interpersonal and written presentational skills.
• Valuation capabilities.
• Some experience of insurance would be preferable.
